Lois McMaster Bujold Recommendation

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of *Shards of Honor*, the LMB mailing list compiled a reader's companion to *A Civil Campaign*.

It is really, really worth reading: http://dendarii.com/ACC-Companion.pdf

There were some points I had already noted and others that had passed me by.

Cut for spoilers.

I had noticed that the structure of *A Civil Campaign* mirrors that of *Pride and Prejudice* in that there is a first, disastrous proposal, a letter, and a second, successful proposal.

But I had not noticed some of the other allusions. For instance, Ekaterin's last name was Vorvayne, a nod, perhaps, to Harriet Vane (since Dorothy Sayers was one of the queens of romance in LMB's dedication).
