So, I uploaded pictures to Flickr but I can only see how to post to Livejournal from Flickr, not to Dreamwidth. Any advice?

I was shocked, shocked I tell you, to see the *Angelina Ballerina* episode in which Angelina takes her baby sister to school for show and tell. Inevitably the baby crawls away.

I haven't seen such negligent parenting since the Kirrens shunted their kids off for every holiday ever with their cousing George.

Bodies

Yesterday Pearl caught sight of her reflection on a shiny car. She stopped and admired herself and spent some time flexing her tummy, poking it in and out.

Then she pointed out that she could see her belly button.

I suspect that that is not what most adults would think when looking at their tummies. She did not seem to have any anxiety at all. She went on to point out the 'refection' of her hands, her feet when she stood on one foot and poked the other in the air, her cheeks and her eyes.

Hooray! So far, so good. She doesn't think of her body in terms of appearance.

I do talk to her about her body quite often but consciously in terms of its beauty (her curly hair!* her brown eyes! her round chin!) and its competence (her long legs! her dancing feet! her strong hands!).

Edited to say: Of course, the next step in keeping her sense of her body healthy is to keep Disney out. Easier said than done, people. Even though I don't buy it, it continually creeps into the house. My current line is princesses are OK just not the Disney ones. And I keep stressing that princesses are kind to everyone, always take care of other people, and love animals.

* Though she did once break my heart but getting very upset about having short hair when almost all the stinking Disney princesses have long hair. Was eventually comforted with the thought that a, Mummy has short hair and b, so does Snow White.

Ruby: Now makes a range of cooing and ah gooing noises as well as cries.

Pearl: Has an extensive vocabulary. I find her difficulty with long words adorable. She loves 'aminals', especially the 'elephlants' at the zoo and the 'bufferflies' in the garden because they are so 'booiful'.

I imagine the bufferfly is a relative of the buffalo.
