Pearl wanted to wear underpants yesterday so we tried it out. For four hours. At the end of which I had to recognise that neither of us are ready for toilet training.
She just does not grasp the basic concept that she needs to go to the potty. It's not that she goes late - she just does not go at all, or tell me she has done a wee, or do anything other than play in the wee. And I wound up gibbering with rage.
In retrospect perhaps we should not have tried on a day after I had an incredibly bad night's sleep. (It's not like I set out to do it - she saw some pretty pants and wanted to wear them).
W, my horrible neighbour, had a party on Saturday night. As always, her parties degenerate into screaming hysteria quite quickly. Some of which was in my mind as I lay with my head under the pillow.
Indeed, I became quite homophobic in my thoughts. Well, not so much homophobic as hypocrite-ophobic. Someone at her party kept shouting 'OMG, I'm so drunk. I could kiss anyone! I could kiss another man even!' For hours. While I just thought - get your bloody experimental phase over with. Just bloody do it, without the Dutch courage.
Also, they had an interestingly racist conversation about W's ass.
Man 1: W has no ass at all.
Man 2: Because she is white. White women have no bottoms.
Man 1: I like a woman with no ass.
Man 2: Because they are all white.
Inside my head: W has no ass because she is a skeletal drug addict.
The party eventually died down around 2:00am and I finally went to sleep. Only for the rudest awakening of all... the Police *called me back* at 4:00am to say they hadn't had time to come by and was there still a problem and would I like them to come by.
And then up at 5:00am for a day of shrieking hysterically at Pearl that people don't play with wee.
