Amnesty International have asked for letters calling the overturning of Jean-Claude Roger Mbede's three year prison sentence on the charge of homosexuality.

He was arrested on 2 March this year and convicted 28 April. He is being held in Kondenu Central prison in Cameroon where he is at risk of ill-treatment.

You can also call for an end to arrests and prosecutions against people known or suspected of being gay, lesbian, bisexual or transexual.

The address is:

Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals
Ministry of Justice
Office of the Prime Minister
PO Box 100
Yaounde
Cameroon

The salutation is: Dear Mnister

In some good news, Amnesty reports the release in Sudan of journalist and prisoner of conscience Abuzar Al Amin and the release on medical leave of journalist and women's rights advocate Hengameh Shahidi in Iran.
