I was thinking I wasn't coping very well and then I made a list of what I have done in the last seven days and I see that it's actually that I am just ridiculously busy.
1, One day at work, one day of leave.
2, On my day 'off' took Pearl to the paediatrician. Also took a sample of her urine to the kid's hospital.
3, Also, had the electrician over to repair the power outage in the laundry. Also, had the electrician put in quadruple powerpoints in the lounge and laundry and a new power point by the door so there is no longer a need to run a 10 metre extension cord around the room to power the phone (which must be by the jack).
4, Tried to buy (but failed to get) magazine holders, a smoke alarm and a new address book. Now all ordered online.
5, Took Pearl to kindy on two days.
6, Took Ruby to the eye doctor who confirmed that, yes, she does have a little bit of a lazy eye and a droopy eyelid. Watching brief as her vision is fine.
7, Two play dates with friends.
8, Bought an external hard drive, could not figure out how to use it, took it to afternoon tea but no one else there could make it work either, had to take it into town today to get someone at the store to set it up.
9, Had a plumber come by and rebore the upstairs tap so it no longer leaks black water. He tried to remove and replace the broken drain but it is wedged too firmly.
10, Tried to get a handyman over but no luck.
11, Viewed, bought and arranged transport for a new chest of drawers and bookcase so I can finish unpacking in my room.
12, Had a gardener come by to give a quote on removing brush from the backyard in preparation for item 13.
13, Looked and chose a shed. Must confirm there is space once the brush is removed.
14, Went to the library twice.
15, Baked bread, baked a failed chocolate cake (turned out as a kind of chocolate pudding thing), macaroni cheese, and mediocre tasting stir fry.
16, Took Pearl to dance class.
17, Took care of Ruby while she was sick.
18, Tidied the bathroom cupboard and the pantry and the junk drawer.
19, Took another load of stuff to the charity bin.
20, Made home-made finger paint which turned out to be more a home-made textured flubber.
21, And of course all the usual things around the house.
I cannot, cannot, cannot wait for this process of decluttering and renovating and moving everything to be OVER.
