Of Alcott's books, this was the one I returned to for comfort reading - there would be times in my life it would have counted in my top ten. And it was probably a contributing force in my viewing the world as I do, because it was so explicit in the portrayal of discrimination.
Also, I always loved the description of the outfit the uncle provided.
However, it was an interesting juxtaposition as to whose opinion got to count here!
