My most interesting read this month was Germaine Greer talking about trying to rehabilitate 60 acres of rainforest. So, on one hand, some lyrical passages describing natural features; on the other hand, her usual assumption that people who are not her are not living their lives as well as her. Look at all those people with white beeches as verge trees - why do they not live a more natural life? Maybe because not everyone can afford to buy 60 acres of mountain rainforest.
