The first time I watched the movie I had it on super quietly because my kids were in the next room sleeping. I misheard and thought Veronica was running for sheriff. I like this ending much better than the real one – that she is continuing to be a private detective.
The one problem I had with the original series was that only Veronica and her friends ever took effective action. Those who were not rich – except for Mac (who was swapped at birth) and Wallace (sanctified by the presence of Veronica) – were a big mass who could not even try to fix their own problems. There was no possibility of collective action of any sort, like, say, electing a sheriff who represented everyone’s interests instead of just those of the rich.
I love Veronica Mars for her superpowers, her ability to manage time and to sleuth. I would love it even more if she didn’t always have to be constantly rescuing people.
