emma_in_dreamHave the Americans had a Federal election in the last generation where the results were generally accepted? My memory is 2000 – Bush was accused of stealing the election by refusing to count the Florida votes (because he did). 2004 – Bush was accused of stealing the election with dodgy electronic vote counting machines made by a Republican who promised to ‘win’ him the election. 2008 – Obama undermined by a whisper campaign that he wasn’t really an American. 2012 – ditto.
2016 – I am pretty sure the results will be contested again and some people will not accept the new President has due authority.
