As part of my detoxification of Pearl's life I have had tests done on the lead levels in the house. (Not the handheld sort which has frequent false positives and false negatives but one through a lab).
The results are:
* Dust wipe of lounge room floor - 8.5ug/m2 (low biohazard rate is 250-500ug/m2)
* Dust wipe of kitchen counter - 7.0ug/m2
* Garden dirt - 10mg/kg (low biohazard rate of 125-300mg/kg)
* Dust wipe of floor of Pearl's room - 6.0ug/m2
* Painted wood from Pearl's cot - <0.01%
* First tap water - <0.01mg/l (maximum acceptable level is 0.01mg/l)
I was more concerned about my parents' house as my father has run his own business from home for the past twenty years and this involves lots of metal dust being tracked into the house.
* Dust wipe of the kitchen floor at my parents - 100ug/m2
* Dust wipe of cupboard in my parents' kitchen - 11ug/m2
