Proposed Uranium Mine

I wrote to the Federal and State Ministers for the Environment registering my extreme displeasure at the (latest) proposed uranium mine.
I got this response:
Thank you for your email dated 22 May 2012 regarding your concerns over the long
term consequences of uranium mining.
I can assure you that all proposals for uranium mining in WA will undergo rigorous
environmental impact assessment by the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA)
which will provide independent advice to me.
As you may be aware, the EPA recently released its report and recommendations on
Toro Energy's proposed uranium mine near Wiluna.
The EPA's report is now subject to the appeal provisions of the Environmental
Protection Act 1986 and the appeals period closed on 5 June 2012.
I have noted your concerns and prior to making my final decision, I can assure you that I
will give full consideration to the EPA's report and the issues raised during the appeals
process.
I trust this information is of assistance.
Yours sincerely
HON BILL MARMION MLA
MINISTER FOR ENVIRONMENT; WATER
To which I have responded:
Thank you for the response.
I take it that the environmental review will take into account the need to maintain absolute political and geological stability for the next 10,000 years (ie. impossible). Therefore the only possible decision of any meaningful review will be to deny the mining application. Would appreciate your comments on this.
Thanks
Would encourage others to also pester the Ministers.
