emma_in_dream1. Your main fandom of the year?
Perhaps Highlander, inspired by Killabeez rewatch? I am not very good at having just one fandom, but read and reread constantly in a variety.
Ooooh, also, there has been a veritable explosion of Gimli/Legolas fics lately, perhaps inspired by The Hobbit’s dwarf/elf love story. This makes me very happy as I have shipped them since I was a teenager. After all, they do literally sail off into the sunset together.
2. Your favourite film you watched this year?
I only saw two movies in the cinema – The Hobbit and Zarina, the Pirate Fairy which was surprisingly good.
3. Your favourite book read this year?
Well, my favourite authors I read in 2014 were Agatha Christie, Georgette Heyer, Jane Austen, Lois McMaster Bujold, and Mary Grant Bruce.
4. Your favourite album or song to listen to this year?
I have never been a music person. At the moment I am listening to Teddy Rock which has 1970s punk inspired versions of nursery rhymes and which Ruby loves.
5. Your favourite TV show of the year?
I rewatched a lot of Highlander, and some X Files. I liked Zombie Nation because it was ridiculous.
6. Your best new fandom discovery of the year?
I read a whole lot of hockey rpf that Special_Trille recommended and then felt guilty because – real people. And apparently ones who don’t articulate emotions well. (Don’t read this, Sydney or Geno).
7. Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
As always, I continue to be out of step with every other fan. I either like the wrong shows, or the right ones twenty years too late, or the wrong pairing, or the most minor character in the background (Buffy: Jonathan who I loved before season six). Thus whenever I am looking for fic it is a struggle, and I rarely get to do fannish things with other people.
8. Your fandom boyfriend of the year?
Ichabod Crane.
9. Your fandom girlfriend of the year?
Abby Mills.
10. Your biggest squee moment of the year?
Well, I am watching lots of vids at the moment.
11. The most missed of your old fandoms?
I don’t really have ‘old’ fandoms as I constantly revisit them.
12. The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to?
I am about to try Guardians of the Galaxy…. I got the DVD for Christmas.
13. Your biggest fan anticipations for the coming year?
I would like to write more which may or may not happen depending on how Ruby goes at kindy.
