Oct. 2nd, 2009 08:47 amThe most interesting reads this month were probably *Mother Journeys: Feminists Write About Mothering*, a collection of essays and reflections on mothering, and *Smart Mama’s Green Guide* which is one of those terrifying books that makes you aware of the dangers around you. Poisons! Poisons everywhere!
The most enjoyable were probably the Georgette Heyer mystery novels. I had never previously read them and they hold up well. (Of course they are snobbish - all those country house murders are - but I can deal with that because it is a feature of the genre. It is only the occasional piece of intrusive anti-semitism that is actually off-putting.)
