emma_in_dreamI have been reading E.D.E.N Southworth’s *Her Mother’s Secret* and it is addictive like a soap opera. I’ve just finished it and I have yet to find out if Odalite and Leonideas will be able to marry! It continues in the next book….
Will Odalite and Leonideas be able to marry? Will the evil Angus Anglesea thwart them or was his putative marriage to Odalite void because he was a bigamist? What is the terrible secret Elfrida Force is hiding? Could it be she is illegitimate? Epileptic? Did someone once glimpse her ankle? What is Colonel Anglesea blackmailing her with?
I must read on to find out!
BTW: the revelation at the church door that the groom was a bigamist sounds ridiculous here but – Jane Eyre.
